AAPA Obesity Community of Practice is welcoming AAPA's PAOM members and followers to join us for our Huddle webinar on 11/30/2023 at 7p EST.  The presentation will be presented live from the AAPAP Huddle website. 

In this live webinar, learn to develop long-term treatment plans for obesity based on patient characteristics, comorbid conditions and complications, preferences, and access. You will also learn to integrate nutritional, behavioral, and physical activity interventions into treatment plans and refer appropriate patients for metabolic surgery.

Ledyenska Baez Ballesteros is a board-certified PA with concentrations in primary care/internal medicine and obesity medicine. PA Baez was raised in West Texas where she received a Bachelor of Science degree from Angelo State University in 2003. She later moved to San Antonio and earned another B.S. in public health and a Master of Science degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center in 2007. She has been employed with Gonzaba Medical Group since 2011 and has devoted years to honoring the “como familia” motto. In 2015, PA Baez created GMG’s obesity medicine program to better treat her patients’ overall health. PA Baez is dedicated to educating and helping her patients in caring for their health and better understanding obesity and its comorbidities. PA Baez currently serves as Secretary on the Board of Directors for PAs in Obesity Medicine. Other memberships include American Academy of Physician Associates, Texas Academy of Physician Associates, Academy of PAs and NPs, Bexar County PA Society, and the Obesity Medicine Association. On her personal time, she loves spending time with family, especially her husband and their two young children. PA Baez is fluent in English and Spanish.
