We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a PACS Imaging IT Director. In this role, the successful candidate is responsible for leading, managing, supporting and directing the IT operations for all Radiology & Cardiology imaging locations across Optum NY/NJ.

The candidate must have an in-depth knowledge of PACS systems, software, and related applications. This includes managing the daily operations, scheduling and mentoring of personnel assigned to the department, conducting regular day-to-day communication, along with monitoring and maintaining applications. They would also demonstrate a deep understanding of clinical operations, while working with vendors, project team(s), and clinical staff to tailor the system to fit the needs of the organization. The candidate would also routinely perform in-depth analysis of workflows, data collection, report details, and other technical routines associated with the use of Radiology IT systems and would be responsible for developing and documenting the internal procedures that will be used in conjunction with Radiology, Cardiology & ancillary applications. They will then design, build, test, install, train and maintain those solutions. Lastly, they would be expected to use innovative and critical thinking skills in providing systems solutions to advance the business needs and to train and support PACS administrators.

Schedule: Monday – Friday – 40 hours per week

Location: Must be able to commute to one of the following office locations - Middletown, NY, Chappaqua, NY, Lake Success, NY, or Secaucus, NJ

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Direct and execute IT business and technology needs for PACS Imaging systems
  • Strategic execution of department-wide business & information technology related initiatives
  • Direct liaison to physicians, leadership and 3rd party vendors
  • Subject matter expert for all Radiology & Cardiology Systems (PACS/RIS/Powerscribe/VNA, etc.)
  • Direct and ensure adherence with all compliance and regulatory initiatives
  • Supervise, mentor, and training to the PACS administrative team
  • Excellent working and technical knowledge of relevant business and clinical computer operating systems and all phases of clinical systems and applications
  • Experience in aspects of systems development and lifecycle support design and deployment, including analysis, design, testing, and implementation
  • Experience in project management and proven ability to take a project through all phases of implementation as well as post- implementation follow-up
  • Experience in performing user requirements, statistical analysis, as well as troubleshooting problems and addressing questions from users and provide on-call support on a rotating basis
  • Make recommendations, review and test changes, enhancements and each new release
  • Ensure the test scripts have been created, reviewed and updated to reflect proposed workflow solutions
  • Manage on-site support during go-lives and system upgrades
  • Ensures all quality assurance processes are followed, including change management and testing
  • Principle lead for disaster recovery measures specific to Radiology technology operations

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
  • 5+ years of experience managing and leading high performing, motivated, and agile resources
  • 5+ years of full-time applicable experience managing clinical IT PACS systems including analysis, support, and implementation
  • Ability to commute to one of the following office locations - Middletown, NY, Chappaqua, NY, Lake Success, NY, or Secaucus, NJ
  • Access to reliable transportation & valid US driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in related fields is preferred
  • Working imaging knowledge of relevant operational & clinical based workflows
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization
  • Proficient with the full Microsoft Office 365 Suite of applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, etc.).
  • Effectively and efficiently work with multiple stakeholders across various IT and operational teams
  • Strong experience developing, deploying and maintain data systems that ensure data integrity and uninterrupted service to end users

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $110,200 to $188,800 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
