Position Overview

A high-volume outpatient surgical oncology program in New Jersey is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for a 4-month locum tenens assignment. This role offers a Monday–Friday, flexible daytime schedule with no call, working alongside a strong team of surgeons and APPs.

This coverage supports the program during a staffing transition period, following the resignation of two APPs. Clinicians will enjoy a structured, team-based outpatient setting with full support.

  • Estimated Total Earnings Over Contract: ~$90,000

  • Pay Ranking: Top 12% nationally for surgical oncology APP locums

Assignment Highlights
  • Schedule: Monday – Friday, flexible daytime hours

  • Call: None

  • Setting: Outpatient clinic (Hope Tower Neptune)

  • Team Structure: 2 attending physicians + 1–2 APPs on site daily

  • Support: Full clinical and administrative support team

  • Telehealth: Not required

  • Facility Type: Academic medical center

  • Travel: Prepaid

  • Malpractice: Covered by HPA Healthcare

  • Orientation: Included and billable

Skills & Experience
  • Previous outpatient surgical oncology or surgical specialty experience preferred

  • Comfort managing post-operative follow-up, clinic visits, and patient education

  • Strong teamwork and communication skills in a multi-provider environment

  • EMR proficiency required

Job Responsibilities
  • Conduct surgical oncology clinic visits, follow-ups, and pre-/post-operative care

  • Collaborate closely with surgical attending physicians and other APPs

  • Support patient education, care coordination, and treatment planning

  • Contribute to efficient clinic flow and patient access
