Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

Urgent Care

Position Overview

We are seeking a Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join a busy urgent care clinic in Pittsfield, Massachusetts.

This position works 3 12-hour shifts per week from 7a to 7p and provides care to patients ages 2 and up.

This role is ideal for an APP who is confident working independently in an urgent care environment and comfortable managing a wide variety of conditions that present throughout the day.

Schedule:

  • 3 12-hour shifts per week
  • 7a to 7p

Clinical Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments, physical exams, and medical history reviews
  • Diagnose and treat acute illnesses and injuries commonly seen in urgent care
  • Suture and repair lacerations
  • Evaluate and interpret x rays and other diagnostic studies
  • Perform wound care, injections, and immunizations
  • Educate patients on treatment plans, follow up care, and wellness
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record
  • Adhere to infection control, safety, and compliance standards

Experience Preferences:

  • Prior urgent care or emergency medicine experience preferred
  • New graduates will be considered, especially Family Nurse Practitioners with prior ED or ICU RN experience and / or Physician Assistants confident stepping into a lead provider role
  • Must be comfortable working autonomously in a fast paced setting

Qualifications:

  • Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
  • Current Basic Life Support certification through AHA or Red Cross
  • Strong clinical judgment and procedural skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Compassionate and patient focused approach to care
