Position Description

Retina Partners of Northwest Arkansas is a high-volume, physician-led retina specialty practice dedicated to delivering exceptional care for patients with complex retinal diseases. Our clinic focuses on advanced medical retina care, intravitreal injections, cutting-edge diagnostics, and participation in clinical trials. Position Overview

We are seeking a Licensed Physician Assistant (PA-C) to join our retina team. The PA will work closely with a board-certified retina specialist to provide comprehensive care to patients with retinal conditions such as diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, retinal vein occlusions, and other vitreoretinal diseases.

This role is ideal for a motivated PA who enjoys specialty medicine, procedural care, and working in a fast-paced clinical setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct patient histories and comprehensive clinical assessments

  • Perform and document ophthalmic exams under physician supervision

  • Assist with and independently perform procedures as permitted, including intravitreal injections (training provided if needed)

  • Review diagnostic testing (OCT, fundus photography, fluorescein angiography)

  • Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with retina physicians

  • Provide patient education on diagnoses, treatment options, and follow-up care

  • Accurately document encounters in the electronic medical record (EMR)

  • Coordinate care with technicians, physicians, and administrative staff

  • Support clinical research and trials when applicable

Qualifications

  • Current Physician Assistant license in Arkansas (or eligibility for licensure)

  • NCCPA certification required

  • Prior experience in ophthalmology or retina is preferred but not required

  • Strong interest in specialty medicine and procedural care

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • High attention to detail and commitment to patient-centered care

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
