All Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA)-registered practitioners will need to meet a one-time, eight-hour training requirement on the treatment and management of patients with opioid or other substance use disorders.  The requirement takes effect on June 27, 2023.

This training must be completed prior to the PA’s next scheduled DEA registration submission (initial or renewal). Once satisfied, the question regarding training will not be part of future registrations as this is a one-time requirement.
