The Salt Lake County Health Department and the University of Utah present : " Addiction 101 in family practice"

The Salt Lake County Health Dept. and the PARCKA program (brand new at the University of Utah Division of Epidemiology, flyer attached) are partnering to host Provider Trainings/Education on Addiction, Addiction 101 Family Practice Lectures. As you are probably aware, there exists a critical need to expand community and caregiver knowledge on how to assess and mitigate the risks of opioid prescriptions and access addiction treatment in non-specialty care settings. Dr. Adam Gordon has been researching and practicing medicine in the field of addiction science for many years. He’s a board certified internal medicine and addiction medicine physician. He will be leading the training/education sessions. We are working with the U of U CME and have their full support.

We are going to host 3 to 4 sessions and are thinking of having them in different areas of the county – south, north, east & west locations. We will be having them in July/August (dates to be determined). We most likely will hold them at a county owned facility. Salt Lake County Health Dept. will provide lunches for the training and will be covering the CME fees. We'd love to advertise to your providers. Please let me know who I should be working with and what is the best way to get the word out.
