What an Amazing Conference!

Dear Colleagues,

As the 2024 SAPA CME Conference comes to a close, we reflect on an incredible few days filled with learning, inspiration, and camaraderie. The highlight for many was the keynote address by The Army Surgeon General, LTG Mary Izaguirre, whose powerful words left a lasting impact on all who attended.

This year was extra special as we celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Army PA profession. A nostalgic piece of artwork was signed by all attending PAs, marking this historic milestone. The conference also featured a variety of workshops that catered to both seasoned professionals and those looking to expand their skill sets—from EKG and Ultrasound techniques to Botox injections, there was something for everyone.

In addition, breakout sessions provided valuable opportunities for Active Army, Reserves, and National Guard PAs to come together, share experiences, and discuss the unique challenges they face.

The Annual SAPA Banquet was a memorable event as well, with BG Bill Soliz, the active Army’s first PA to become a general officer, serving as our guest speaker. It was an evening to remember as we honored the trailblazers who have paved the way for future generations.

But the excitement doesn’t end here! We’re already looking forward to next year’s conference, which will be held again at the Embassy Suites on the Riverwalk in San Antonio, August 19-22, 2025. Mark your calendars, because on August 18th, we’ll be hosting an Army PA Symposium—a full day dedicated to Active Army, Reserves, and National Guard PAs, where medical leaders will discuss current and future Army medical planning for the PA.
Stay tuned for more details and get ready to be part of another groundbreaking event! You won’t want to miss it!
