A new Prescription Drug Monitoring Program legislation went into effect on August 1st, 2017. Act 820 of 2017 mandates that a prescriber access the Arkansas Prescription Monitoring Program in the following circumstances:
- Each time a CII opioid is prescribed.
- Each time a CIII opioid is prescribed.
- The first time a benzodiazepine is prescribed.
