December 1998                     Master’s Degree of Physician Assistant Studies, with specialization in Emergency Medicine from the University of Nebraska - Medical Center.

 

July 1991-August 1992         Emergency Medicine Physician Assistant Residency, Diploma, Los Angeles County + USC Medical Center. I was the first ever US Military USAF PA-C to do an EMPA Residency. Besides being on the ER trauma team, I worked directly with the entire specialty residencies in rotations throughout the medical campus. Example: I delivered over 100 babies (mostly high risk) in 1 month during my OB/GYN rotation. It was an intensive highly compressed ER experience working 80 plus hours a week in a nationally recognized EM residency system.

GS12/9.  Medical Director Practitioner for the Soldier Medical Readiness Center, Kleber Clinic, Family medicine, soldier medicine, and Soldier integration pre/post deployment medical processing. Augmentation support and clinic coverage in Vicenza and independently in Livorno Italy clinics, and US ARMY bases throughout Germany x 1 year. Transferred to Landstuhl ER as the SR EMPA Staff provider with full ER privileges in the ER proper. President – Society of European PA’s.  Inspector for the IG inspection for Medical MASS Casualty response and NBC scenarios. Wounded Warriors (WW) support through the ER arrival as needed and volunteer for WW and other Hospital programs.

 

MAY 2006 – May 2007   MEDCOR Employee at Yellowstone National Park and Midway Island Atoll clinics, as an EMPA/PA-C, MPAS. Isolated and independent (MD by phone only) remote EM PA duty. All emergencies (and there were many including MEDEVACS etc...) and any primary care or other medical needs. Also did OSHA compliant inspections with Public Health of dining facilities. Wrote all policies and procedures manual for the PA/Provider for Midway Atoll and expanded on Old Faithful Clinic's.

 

OCT 1987-SEPT 1988       Lake Quinault Medical Clinic, Nielton Park, Washington.  “Remote-solo” practice. Provided routine family and emergency medical care at a clinical site independent from the supervising physician; including Native American healthcare.  EMS support as the ALS provider and volunteer fireman.

JAN 1997 – AUG 1999    White House Medical Unit, Washington DC.  Executive Medicine.  The Senior White House PA and first-ever Emergency Medicine PA provider to the President and Vice President of the US, and their families.  Top Secret Joint services military duty with multiple complicated National and International mission support duties - including private 1st and 2nd family medical care, US Secret Service and State Department mission support.  Decoration in the White House for saving USSS life. Jointly responsible for the US Senate/WH State of the Union Emergency Medical Action Plan.

Sole EM provider for the POTUS AND VPOTUS on the ground in potential hostile zones. Operated independently for VP support and on advance missions. Inspected the EMS capabilities at hospitals worldwide. Lead first ever VIP evaluation of Russia’s VIP medical assets.

Acting Flight Surgeon for NATO-TAC evaluation.

 

MAR 1996 – JUL 1996    48th MDG - ATH (Deployed) NATO/C-SUPPORT/MEDCC - 16th AF (USAFE).  Operation Joint Endeavor - Zagreb, Croatia;  Emergency Medical PA provider for the ATH - providing combat mission support and leadership in Zagreb and in Sarajevo, Bosnia for US Navy CINC IFOR’s  NATO medical clinic.

 

SEPT 1992 – JUL 1995    81st MDG, Keesler Medical Center, Keesler AFB, MS.  Staff Emergency Medical provider in the ER and fast-track clinic. EMS/ALS coordinator. Trained medical students, residents and staff in Emergency Medicine. The first ATH Mobility Team Chief and EM provider.

 

AUG 1994 – NOV 1994   Lackland AFB, Wilford Hall Med Ctr. (Deployed); Joint Task Force Safe Haven/Operation Sea-Signal Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. The only ATH Emergency Medicine provider handpicked to augment and establish medical support plans and to provide care to all Cuban boat lift refugees. Organized central triage programs and empaneled Cuban/American doctors into effective clinics. Awarded by Cuban’s refugees for superior support and lifesaving efforts.

 

JUL 1991 – AUG 1992   Los Angeles County + USC Medical Center, Los Angeles, California.  Emergency Medicine Physician Assistant Resident.  USAF handpicked for this major trauma residency – first ever USAF.

OCT 1987 – SEPT 1988 Washington Army National Guard (ARNG), State Army Command HQ, Office of the Surgeon General.  HQ PA – the State Surgeon’s representative to ARNG medical units for staff assistance visits.  Medical Platoon Commander and OIC of a Battalion Aide Station - conducted many field exercises and helicopter MEDEVAC operations. Grimm – we were married on 21DEC1981 in the Catholic Church in Hamilton, MT – our home.  Becky has a BS degree in Elementary Education from the University of Southern Mississippi and has attended numerous colleges over the years. She is certified in many states and DoDDS Europe as an Elementary School Teacher. She has been awarded many commendations for being an outstanding teacher including teacher of the year, more than once.
